  • Motivic Computations in Magma
  • 3pm–4pm, Thursday 13th June, 2013
  • Carslaw 535
  • I will begin with an informal presentation of motives and their associated L-series, with no technical prerequisites. I will next discuss Magma's current functionality in this context, including its ability to compute L-series of hypergeometric motives except for problematic factors associated with wild ramification. I will conclude by giving a new example illustrating a general method for computing these problematic factors.
