I will give an overview of work over the last year within Magma for computing discrete logarithms in finite fields of small characteristic. This is mostly based on Coppersmith's index calculus algorithm (with a simple extension beyond characteristic 2) and more recently a basic version of the "Double Rational" Function Field Sieve.
