  • The Hessian of a genus one curve

  • I will describe some classical covariants and contravariants of a ternary cubic, and indicate how these constructions can be generalised to genus one normal curves of degrees 4 and 5. I will then explain how these formulae can be used to write down equations for certain visible elements in the Tate-Shafarevich group of an elliptic curve.
