  • Finding rational points on Severi–Brauer surfaces
  • 3pm–4pm, Thursday 9th September, 2004
  • Carslaw 350
  • I will explain the relation between severi-brauer varieties and central simple algebras. Firstly I will show known ways for passing from the algebra to its Severi–Brauer variety, afterwards an algorithm for the opposite direction in the case of surfaces. We will see how to use the corresponding algebra for finding a rational point on the surface.
